Procedures and Publication Ethics

For the highest quality of the articles, The Editorial Board and Scientific Council of Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis “Studia de Securitate” ensure compliance to the highest ethical standards, intellectual property rights, reliability of research results presented in the journal under the principles set by the Ministry of Science and Education in Poland and the Committee on Publication Ethics, broadly discussed at COPE Core Practice. These rules involve the specific duties and requirements, which if observed by the Editors, Reviewers and Authors, guarantee the high quality of the texts published in the journal.

The authors are required to follow the formatting standards and produce the statement that the submitted text is original, has not been published elsewhere in any form, the sources used in the article are confirmed, that they listed all the publications referred to in the article, and that they mentioned all the authors and contributing authors. The authors declare that the submitted article is free from a potential problem of “ghostwriting” (occurs when someone has made a substantial contribution to the publication without revealing his participation as one of the authors, or without mentioning his role in the acknowledgments of the publication) and “guest authorship” (occurs when an author’s participation is negligible or even non-existent, and yet he or she is listed as the author or co-author of the publication). Authors are obliged to assure that copyrights of third parties have not been breached. Submitting the article for publication means also transferring the copyrights in a whole to Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis “Studia de Securitate”. Moreover, in case of disclosure of any essential mistake or inconsistency in the article the authors are obliged to report it to the Editorial Board.

The Editorial Board accepts the articles under the objective criterion of their substantive value and respects the rights related to diversity, equity and inclusivity (DEI). The reviewing process is based on the double-blind review process, the authors and reviewers do not know their personal data. If there are discrepancies between reviewers regarding the evaluation of the article and review conclusions, the Editor-in-Chief asks for the opinion of the Editorial Board members, appoints an additional reviewer, and in specific cases requests the members of the Scientific Council to present their opinion.

The Scientific Council of the journal is a controlling and advisory body for the Editorial Board and in particular safeguards substantial value of the journal, consults and recommends the journal programming, solves any problems raised by the Editor and fosters development of the journal. At the same time, the Scientific Council encourages the prominent scientists to publish in the journal, enhances the publicity sand promotes the journal to the scientific communities in Poland and abroad. The Scientific Council solves any disputes about the submitted articles and deals with any issues related to the activities of the Journal.

The review form is open and available on the journal’s website.
